Graduate Student Research Opportunities

Although survey work at the site started in 2007, and excavation work in 2010, there is still much to do at Ka'Kabish.

We are looking for students interesting in field research on the following Master's projects:
  1. architecture studies of several structures in the site core to determine their function;
  2. studies on residential occupation in, and immediately adjacent to, the epicentre (i.e Groups A and E)
  3. settlement study work using LiDAR data and ground truthing methods (a background in, or knowledge of, GIS is required)
  4. studies of the cultural assemblages (lithics, faunal, etc.)

I encourage you to write to me (helenhaines@trentu.ca) if you are interested in pursuing any of these options, or other areas of research, at Ka'Kabish as part of a Master's degree at Trent University
