Field Work Opportunities

The Ka'Kabish Archaeological Research Project, directed by Dr. Helen R. Haines is a new research project providing participants with the opportunity to see a site before large-scale excavations and restoration have taken place.  Work at the site involves mapping of the site and settlement zone, and stratified excavations into the plazas and structures.  The project is based in the local village of Indian Church, adjacent to the ruins of Lamanai.  Students stay at a local guest house and dine at a small restaurant run by local women.

Students may obtain a ANTH-3000 field school credit through Trent University.  Those wishing to do so must arrange this at the time of application. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.  Participation is limited to 16 students.
